Synopsis
*Don’t read this book if you don’t like snarky, dominant, tattooed men who say things like “Open your mouth, and I will,” after you tell them to shove it. And don’t read this book if you don’t like sassy, strong-willed, fiercely independent heroines who use phrases like “bossy asshole” as a term of endearment. You have been warned.*“Tattooed package of sin.”
That’s how Savannah Ryan would describe her new boss, Declan Whitmore, the deliciously tatted and pierced fighter who holds the top spot in Boston’s newest underground fighting organization. She’d also describe him as bossy, arrogant, and—depending on what he does to piss her off that particular day—an asshole.
It’s that aloof attitude, along with Savannah’s witty comebacks and tight little body that land her on his radar. Unfortunately for her, Declan is relentless when he sets his sights on someone, both in and out of the ring. Unfortunately for him, this recently reformed bad girl is trying to go straight after heading down a dangerous path. She’s not going to make this easy for him. In fact, she’s going to make it—and him—very, very hard.
Declan’s not worried, though. He’ll have Savannah come hell or high water, because if there’s one word he’d use to describe her, it’s “MINE.”

Review
4.5* I give for this book Let me introduce you to Declan ,,, he is hot, tattooed, alpha, owns a gym, and he's an underground fighter ,,, he will use the girls for what he wants, what he needs ,,, then he wouldn't batter an eyelid and just simply walk away ,,, well that is until he met Savannah ,,, the girl that walked in to his life off the street, just needing a little help ,,, against all his first instincts he helps her when she needs it ,,, but it doesn't take long before sparks fly ,,,, words are said ,,, and moments are shared, never to have been experienced before
So here is Savannah ,,, she is like a saveloy you get from ya local chippy, a bag of mystery ,,, you'll see strong and feisty ,,, but you also see fear and fragility at times ,,, the walls are firmly built and would put any builder to shame ,,, there's no way they are coming down ,,, she walks into a gym after seeing a notice of a job vacancy ,,, wanting a new start, something different, something that's not because of how she looks or what she wears, it's not the best paid job but right now she has limited options and needs the work and the money desperately ,,, but she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for ,,, A WHOLE LOT MORE ,,,
Declan does casual ,,, Savannah does casual ,,, Declan doesn't do relationships ,,, Savannah doesn't do relationships ,,, PERFECT ,,, emotions need to be kept out of it ,,, but will that be possible for these two ,,, Declan doesn't believe love comes easy, only ever witnessing true love once in his life and never feeling it for himself ,,, Savannah doesn't believe coz everyone leaves, it never lasts ,,, could these two be each other's opposites? The fire that is alight between them is fierce but there is so much going on in their heads ,,,, they play games ,,, they speak cruelly ,,, will one push be the push that is too far?
This is a good read and I did enjoy it ,,, I felt for an alpha Declan was very weak when it came to Savannah, she broke him BIGTIME ,,, this move very fast in this book and you might lose track of the timeframe your reading in ,,, there are also a few things brought into the story which you may not feel relevant ,,, until the end of the book ,,, although the main guy in this book is an underground fighter you don't really get to read too much about the fighter world (the pit)
If your looking for a strong connection between two people and a HEA this will be good for you
Excerpt
“What are you
doing?”
“I’m getting your
stuff. You’re staying with me.” He says it without pausing, without even
looking at me.
I make a
surprised choking/laughing sound in the back of my throat and say, “No, I am
most certainly not staying with you.” I’m fully grown and
have been taking care of myself since I can remember. I don’t need Declan or
his handouts.
Well, except for
the job. I need the job.
He sets a laundry
basket on the pavement and glances at me. “It’s either that or you make room
for me in your car. Your choice.”
My mouth opens,
but nothing comes out at first. I think I’m struck stupid. “Why are you doing
this?”
He glares at me.
“Why am I refusing to leave an attractive girl alone in her car overnight? Gee,
I don’t know. I must be some kind of asshole.”
Anger flares in
me, and I’m thankful for the familiar emotion. Declan’s got me all mixed up,
and I don’t like it. “Point made, asshole, but I’m not some stray cat
you can just take in.”
A smile flirts
with his lips as he nods to my pile of stuff. “Get your things, Kitten.”
***
“You’re really gonna make me stay with you?” I ask,
disbelieving. “Even though I don’t want to.”
“Yep."
I follow him across the street as he
absconds with my things. “Some would consider that kidnapping, you know.”
***
“My keys are in my pocket. Mind
digging ’em out for me?” He shifts the laundry baskets to expose the one
closest to me.
“You want me to stick my hand in
your pants and dig around near your crotch? Seriously?”
He barks out a laugh and tilts his
hip toward me. “C’mon, it’s not gonna bite. I promise.”
My brow arches as I switch his bag
to the other hand. “All right, but don’t come crying to me when your pissed-off
hostage punches you in the balls.”
Tentatively, I slip my hand inside
his pocket, hating the way my heart beats faster just from touching him. I try
to tell myself it’s only because I’ve gone two months without sex and being
this close to a guy is stirring up old, familiar feelings of lust, but I know
that’s not true. It’s Declan who’s making me feel all light-headed
and electric.
A soft laugh threads through the air
between us, making the tiny awning seem even smaller. How can a laugh sound
sexy? It shouldn’t even be possible. “Kitten,”
he says, his deep voice snaking around that damn word like a caress, making it
easier to bear. Shit, I think he could read the phone book to me and I’d be
riveted. “I saw the way you were looking at me earlier,” he continues. “I
seriously doubt you’d be anything but nice to my balls.”
