I was DYING for this book to come out after how Book two ended! Like are you kidding me,you end book two like that and then you make us wait MONTHS! That's just Evil Devon! SO as you can Imagine Book three picks back up right were book two ended,literally on that CLIFF hanger <-- get it? LOL.So as we know Christos ran from Samantha afraid that he wasn't good enough for her after everything her parents had said. Which is SO wrong as they are perfect for each other! But with everything going on between the court date looming and her parents making it obvious that they don't think he's the right person for there girl,he can't take it and ends up at his and Samantha's spot.Samantha is freaking out looking for him! Thinking he might do something stupid in the heat of the moment. But he doesn't. He's to much to live for with her. And the court date he's gonna rock. He won't let that ass that was shouting at Samantha take him down. He deserved that punch and to be took down a peg or two!The thing is he never tell Samantha the reason why he is up in court. He just says its because he hit someone. SO she end's up having to work this all out herself! Seriously,why do men make things so complicated? But anyways she happen's to work it out herself! And thank god she does as you's will see for yourself's :)So that's all there problems solved right? WRONG! The drama in this book still continues! If its not Samantha's horrid parents its that witch Tiffany trying to make her life hell. And boy does Tiffany go all out in this book. She takes her hatred to a WHOLE other level! We knew she wasn't playing with the full deck but this just show's how crazy and evil she can really get. Talk about getting revenge for giving her a mustache :D OH and throw in some drunk Jocks and a whole heap of money troubles and you've got yourself a drama party like no other. Between Samantha's growing college bills and Christos's money depleting everyday with law fee's the two of them are really stuck!OH and I have to say this book has to be the funniest out of the three. I was literally laughing my ass off and getting some weird looks of people around me. BUT it was so worth it! I own that to Romeo,he takes his funnyness to a whole other level! The stuff he came out with was UNREAL! He's now gonna be my future husband. I don't care if he's Gay and fictional. I need him :DHer friends are just as great in this one! I love the whole gang and I would LOVE it if they got there own Spin off books. Maybe if I bug the author enough he may just do that..... ;)

A lot of people ask me, "Why is a guy writing romance novels for women?" The answer is simple. Everyone falls in love. Even Men. Imagine that. ;-)
Of course, I'm half-joking, but also half-serious. Most men behave as if they have no emotions and certainly never--GASP!--talk about them. Men control their emotions. No man is a man if he lets his emotions get the best of him, right? Men conquer their emotions. Hardly.
Emotions are as much a part of a man's human experience as they are a woman's. I'm sure the specifics are as different as individual people can be. But if a man wants to have a complete experience as a human being, he must embrace his emotional nature and learn to understand it. What better way to explore emotions than to focus on stories centering around emotional experiences? Including the most intense emotional experience of all, love?
Having read a slew of New Adult romances in the past year, I noticed again and again that these novels dealt with the repressed pain of emotional scars and how love can help heal our wounds. Everyone has emotional scars. Women and men. Everyone hopes to heal, and a loving relationship can be a conduit for both partners to heal together.
My own stories feature characters who are on a quest to heal their pain. I believe this is a universal desire. It's my hope that readers of my stories may heal in some small way or gain some perspective regarding their own emotional wounds.

About The Author

 

Melissa Rolka grew up in the Chicagoland area all of her childhood and has always had a love of writing. She started by keeping a journal at a young age and then in high school she started writing poetry. A couple poems were published anonymously. Then in college she majored in Philosophy, which required lots and lots of writing. After graduating from Marquette University she traveled west to Los Angeles. There she worked for the Writers Guild of America and found herself submerged in the writers world. She worked on small writings, but never pursued them. On the side she became involved with a small theater group. Eventually she made her way back to the Midwest, where her heart belongs, and worked in business for several years. She found love, got married and has two beautiful children. Being at home has allowed her to keep following her love of reading and writing.

The Perfect Distraction is her first full length novel. A second continuation of this story is in the works with hopes for a third. When Melissa is not writing she is caring for, playing with and loving her two kids. In between taking care of her family and writing she almost always has her nose buried in her Kindle.

The limo driver opens my door and just as I’m about to swing my legs out, I catch a glimpse of the guy who snaked my award. He places his hand on the door handle and opens it for me.  I quietly give him my thanks and enter with my mom following close behind. When the doors shut, he comes alongside me. “I just wanted to say congratulations on the award.” He holds his hand out for me to shake and when I place my hand in his, I’m amazed how soft his hands feel. I guess if I wasn’t plucking guitar strings all day, that’s how my hands would feel too. Unexpectedly, he pulls me into him and his lips brush against my cheek as he whispers, “But it should have been mine.” With a chuckle, he walks away, once again leaving before I have a chance to respond.

OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!! I flipping loved this book! Okay so I LOVED Adam and Sophia's story BUT I may actually love this more :D It starts off just after the last book left off. Now Adam and Sophia are in this one,but its more based around Erin and Connor this time. Erin is sick in the start of this book. And missing Connor something fierce because he's always away working. But nothing can be done about it. He does run a business with Adam after all. But while he's away Erin is sick on and off. Dizzyness,been weak and tired. And oh yeah throwing up. Hmmmmm whatever could it be...... ;) Well yeah of course she's knocked up! Hello it was slapping her in the face! ANYHOO,she rushes over to Sophia's and Adam and just has to tell her. She's freaking out thinking Connor will hit the roof. After all they are only with each other 6 months. BUT he shocks the hell outta her by been over the moon about it. And right there and then he drops on one knee and asks her to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course she says HELL YEAH! Everything is perfect. Lalalalala. Nothing can bring them down......I wish that was right. But S Moose wouldn't just leave it like that. OH NO. She just had to be evil. And I really wanna dislike her now. BUT I can't because I freaking love her! Ugh! Everything is going good alright. Until someone pops up in there life unexpectedly. Fits right into there world and makes themselfs at home. Do you want a good book? Do you want some amazing characters?? Do you wanna read about some red blooded alpha males willing to do anything to protect their family??? Do you like angst? Some drama? Hot sex scenes? Good times and bad times? And one hell of a roller coaster ride??? Then let me tell you this is without doubt a book for you

This book is Beck and Dees story ,,, we already know these two from the previous two books and we know about the ups and downs in their relationship ,,, well at least we think we do ,,, this book sheds some serious light over the pair of them from past present and we roll into future through the book

This book starts off pretty much around the time that Cage's story wraps up. But it goes back to the night in the pub where Lizzy see's Axel for the first time in years. Just as there life is changing so Is Dee's and Becks as that's that first time they meet. The attraction to each other is straight away. You could cut threw the sexual tension with a knife its that strong. But no matter how much Dee wants him it can only ever be sex to her. She's had to much hurt in her life to let a man into her heart. Dee has some serious issues. But cab you blame her? Her childhood was horrific, her parents are EVIL! Lets just put it this way they won't be winning any parent of the year awards any time soon.

So she wants sex not a relationship. But Beck isn't gonna take that. He wants her heart, body and soul. And he's willing to wait as long as he has to for her to realize that. And so there dance begins. One step forward and two steps back. Every time he knocks one of her walls down she builds to more back up. So she tries to much him away. But even bringing men around when she knows he'll see or find out doesn't do anything. Beck isn't going anywhere no matter what she does. Because he can see what everyone else has been so blind too. He sees her crumbling. And the constant sadness behind her eyes that never leaves her in all the time he has known her. No matter what mask of smiles she wears for everyone else she can't fool him.

Beck is the kind of guy that only exists in a dream ,,, he is hot, he is strong, he protects ,,, but most of all he has faith in his heart he follows what he knows is the truth he isn't easily pushed away and doesn't give up at the first hurdle ,,, he has the strength to get Dee through some pretty tough and dark times ,,,, he can see her for who she is even if she is trying desperately to hide it from everyone

Dee is a strong character ,,, well this is what we are led to believe ,,, when you get to know her you'll see that there are some serious demons that she is dealing with ,,, you heart will break for her ,,, always pushing never wanting to look weak ,,, there is only so much one person can take in life and to be fair Dee has more than her fair share ,,,,

Poor Dee is falling apart. Literally crumbling day by day. Ringing Beck in the dead of night crying. And more nights then she should finding solace in his body and running before he can wake. People would be better off without her.......Yeah but with Beck around he's not gonna let that happen.

SO in the middle of all of this dance or messed up relationship everyone thinks they have some stuff starts going down in Dee's job. Not wanting to get Beck involved she asks Maddox to help her out by looking into things. But this was so much bigger then she thought and ends up leaving her fighting for her life.
Poor Beck is heartbroken. Seen someone so strong crumble like that will have you crying. Seriously have tissues ready! He never once leaves her side. No matter how much he's told by his friends. When Dee finally comes around she really sees it. She has to try and open herself up. She needs to try harder to let Beck in. But in order to do that she has to tell him everything. From her childhood to where she is now. And my god is it some story :(

Dee needs to release her demons in order to move forward and this can only come by letting them free ,,, talking about them and opening up to those closest to her ,,, how is that going to work when nobody even notices anything is wrong??

Dee does it though. She opens up and finally lets love in. Things can only get better from here right? WRONG! Every relationship has speed bumps along the way. Only in Dee and Becks like its MOUNTAINS! Don't forget the thing going down in her job isn't over.......

Life sucks and this book will deal with a whole heap of different things that will confirm that statement but be assured this book isn't all bad there are some good things too

This book is so beautifully written certain scenes in particular ,,,, I love reading about Sway coz he is totally awesome and I think every girl needs a sway in their life ,,, and definitely some gold glitter ,,, he is able to brings smile to some of the saddest faces and I see him as being the human form of marmite ,,, you will either love him or hate him and man does everyone love this guy ;) ,,, although he isn't a main character I can assure you that he will always be something you'll remember ,,, even for something so small will always be the thing you'll take from these books ,,,, especially from this one :)
This book comes highly recommended ,,, this whole series does ,,, check them out if you haven't already ,,, Harper Sloan is awesome and so talented ,,,, we’re grateful for the little voices that talk to her and developed these characters ,,, they are a great addition to anyone's collection

But I can tell you something, what I can see in the future with this book is a while lot of 5 star reviews for Harper. You don't have to be Mystic Meg to see that. This books talks for itself :) <3

R.D. Cole is a truly amazing individual ,,, her work is AWESOME ,,, you’ll love her first book in this series so obviously youll love this one too ,,, OH ,,,, MY ,,,,, GOD ,,,, it’s awesome!!!!!! There's no disappointment and you will find the right amount of angst and heart-warming story lines to keep you going and wanting to turn the pages ,,, you'll be in conflict with wanting to get through this book and find out what's happening but at the same time you'll not want it to end
This book is Jazz and Masons story and man is it a good one !!!!!
The first book in the series LTL ends on the mother of all cliff hangers. Where Jazz stands up at thanksgiving dinner and tells the world(okay just her family) that she pregnant! Yeah,everyone is shocked to their core to say the least. Then the dreaded question is asked "Who's the father?" Eeeehhhhhhhhh...... Yeah not wanting to say "Oh its just Oliver,you know my college professor" she stall's. And in the moment of panic Mason stands up and says he's the father. WHAT THE HELL????? Shocked right? Because unless its the reincarnation of Jesus,its not Mason's. But he jumps up to protect Jazz,willing to be in this with her till the end. She is floored. Why would he do this,just for her? She's oblivious to the fake that he's madly in love with her. And would do anything for her. If that means standing by her now and becoming a father then so be it. He loves her and that baby is a part of the women he loves. There's no way he could not love it. Mason has always had feelings for Jazz since the moment he saw her photograph ,,, seeing the family ,,, well Jax ,,, react so badly he steps up and claims that he is the father of her child ,,, could this be his opportunity to finally get the girl of his dreams??? ,,,, will she finally see him??

We are given some insight to the happenings before the announcement during the prologue and gives you an idea of what a scumbag Oliver is ,,, and will make you love Mason all the more knowing that even though he isn’t the biological father he is willing to take the child on.

Jazz has never seen Mason as the sexy guy that makes her tummy flutter with just a look ,,, Mason has never thought that Jazz could ever want someone like him ,,, they are both fighting to be together but at the same time neither wants to cave and tell their feelings in fear that the other won't reciprocate them

Mason steps up to the plate and does everything he can even though Jazz is a little bemused by it all ,,, He goes to her doctor appointments,hears the baby's heart beat with her and they even find out the sex of the baby together. Jazz can't get over this Mason. He's always been her best friend but this Mason is.....Sexy. Yeah she thinks he's SEXY! And with her been a walking bag of hormones,it takes all her will not to jump his bones. So thinking of a way to have her cake and eat it to,without opening her heart again,she suggests no strings attached sex. Of course Mason jumps at that. He wants more from Jazz,he wants it all. But this is a step in the right direction.
These two are opposites, they are from two different worlds ,,, yet there is something there ,,,, between them that they cannot deny
When they finally give in to what they want and things look like they are going well ,,, in walks a piece of drama ,,, set to cause problems ,,, but will they pull through??
Neither wants to be without the other but once again they fear the others response ,,, both have done things, said things they regret but how can the bridges be rebuilt?? ,,,, this is when fate walks in to lend a helping hand !!!!

There first night together shows Jazz what its really like to be seen as beautiful. He worships her,scars and all. To him she is the Sun,Stars and Moon all rolled into one. But things never stay that perfect to they? Hell no. Between Chanda(yeah I said Chanda!) Mason's overly jealous friend who wants him for herself and Ollie creeping back into Jazz's life thing's get out of control. It will keep you gripped and you will have "OH NO SHE DIDN'T" moments. Well I did. And more then once I may have slapped Chanda in my head. Hey I'm only human! We meet some new characters in this one and rekindle with some of the old ones too ,,,, and the ending ,,,,, well let's just say ,,,, I can't cope having to wait for book three :( ,,,, I NEED IT NOW!!!!!
This book comes highly recommend this book to all and you'll not be disappointed it's awesome!!!PLUS after the way this books end's you will be dying all over again for the next book is the series. I'm pretty sure RD Cole is trying to kill me. That or make it that I'be no nails left by the time book 3 comes from making me wait :)

About the Author:



My name is Robin and I live in Alabama. I grew up an army brat and traveled a lot until we

finally settled down along the Gulf Coast when I was 4. My husband is 9 years younger so I

guess that makes me a COUGAR. I have a little girl who is 9 and is blind as well as autistic.

My life is not boring with them two in it. Believe me.

I have always loved creating and I would constantly draw on my walls. I love painting and

reading. Writing is something I wanted to do but didn't think I could, until I woke up at three

a.m. a few months back and started writing. Life has a way of throwing rocks at you and putting cracks in your soul. Either you can duck and cover or you can make something

beautiful from the cracks.

After that, the story took over. Even though some pieces of my life experience are within it,

it is Tru and Jax’s story now. I have truly fell in love with this story and hope you all do too.

Bonus Scene

Mason

             Walking around the busy campus with Symone is great. Her happy enthusiasm as I point out every building catches the attention of everyone we pass. I’ve noticed more than one guy watching her and I feel protectiveness toward her even though we’ve only known each other for a short period time. Her excited voice heightens when I point out my fraternity house. Taking her inside I introduce her to a few of the guys, but since I’m really not the most popular guy at the moment we don’t stay too long. After grabbing some lunch we make our way towards the gym.

“So… Who is the lucky girl you’ve been looking for all day?”

I look at Symone who’s walking beside me. “What?”

           She shoves my shoulder with hers. “The girl that has you spacing out. Duh! I’m not stupid. Every time we pass a blond you do a double take.”

“I do not.”  I’m not ready to talk about Jazz to her yet. Even though she’s totally right. I do keep spacing out when I get to a place that holds memories of the two of us together. Or when I see a blond who’s back is turned my way, even though I heard she dropped out I’m still hoping to see her.

“Whatev’. You totally do. I’ll get it out of you.”

      “And how do you plan on doing that?” Playfully I grab her purse off her shoulder and toss it on the ground behind her before I turn and jog away avoiding her attack. When I see wide, sky blue eyes watching me from a distance everything stops; me,  noise, movement, my breathing, and my heart. We watch each other like we’re scared animals. She’s more beautiful now than ever with her long hair blowing in the wind and flushed cheeks. For the passed few days I thought about going to her and begging for forgiveness. But I’ve stalled and decided to wait until after Symone flies out in a few days. But it’s been hell not going to her to let her know what happened that night. Why I did what I did. But hell… I’m scared she’ll throw my apology in my face like I deserve. Then my dream of a future with her and the baby will be gone forever. Maybe I should just do it now? What the hell do I have to lose?

                Taking a breath I gingerly let my lips form a smile. When she returns it my world feels right again, but before I can get my legs to move in her direction I feel a weight land on my back.

“Gotta ya you turd.”  Symone laughs as she straddles my back.

                When Jazz looks from Symone to me I know I’ve lost her. Her eyes widen as I place my sister back on her feet and watch Jazz turns to walk away.

“Jazz? Please. Wait. It’s not what you think.” I yell as I close the distance between us. I notice how she’s walking in circles. Like she doesn’t know where to go. “Please Jazz. Wait.” Then my worst fear takes place when her whole body goes limp and she falls to the ground. Shoving people out of my way I run to her side and roll her over feeling relief when I see her chest rise and fall. “Jazz? Please baby.” Her eyes are open but she’s not focusing or responding to anything I say. I look up and see Tru running out of the building on the phone. Everyone else is watching with mouths wide open. Like this is a fucking circus. “Can anyone fucking help? Call 911.”

             Tru sits on the ground and places Jazz’s head in her lap before she pats her cheek gently. “Jazz can you hear me?” She looks up at me. “What happened?”

       Before I can answer I’m lifted from the ground and shoved into a tree. Jax is stares at me with nothing but hatred before he bends down to check on Jazz. I straighten before I make my way back to the girl I love and hear the sirens in the background. Jax however stops me before I can reach them. I’m feeling scared for Jazz and angry that this dick is keeping me from her. “Back the fuck off Jax.” I ground out.

“No Mason. You back the fuck off. You’ve done enough and she doesn’t need your shit.”

The ambulance arrives and the medics come with a gurney to load Jazz. I follow behind and hurry to pass up Jax, but he once again grabs me. Raising my fist I swing for the first time at one person I’ve always considered a friend. He will not keep me from her. After it connects he spits out blood then attacks. After I’m on the ground he punches me in the face before he’s pulled off. “Stay the fuck away from my sister. You lying piece of shit.” He fights off the arms that hold him away. 
“No Jax. I will not stay away. Neither you nor anyone on this whole fucking campus is going to keep me away from her. I’m not leaving her again.” I point to the ambulance that is closing the doors. “I’m riding with them. Got it.” Symone is standing besides Tru crying. “Tru can my sister ride with you?” Before I can get an answer I turn toward the ambulance doors. When they ask me if I’m family I tell them yes and she’s carrying my child. Fuck anyone who thinks differently.
