Excerpt

“What the fuck is wrong with you.” The guy that was at the head of the group asks stepping in front of my bike.

I shake my head as words are lodged in my throat.

He pulls me off my bike and the men who are with him begin yelling obscenities as well.

“Sorry.” I croak out and I don’t even know if he hears me his hand goes to the collar of my leather jacket and he shakes me hard and my hand accidently presses down on the button for the Taser to ignite it. The loud crack fills the air and his eyes go wide then he falls to the ground and I fall on my ass and crab walk backwards then look up when I hit something only to meet the eyes of another man who looks pissed.

“Get up.” He growls picking me up my feet flail under me as I’m lifted off the ground with my hands restrained behind my back.

“Hold him still.” The guy who I had Tazered growls in front of me as I try to get away from the anger I feel coming off him.  His hands go to my head and he rips my helmet off causing my hair to float down around me.

Complete silence descends I swear no one even takes a breath.

“Um.” I bite my lip

Review
After reading the synopsis of this book I was keen to get started ,,, as the story unfolds I became more an more gripped and intrigued ,,, although I've now finished this one I'm still left with unanswered questions and so I'm very keen to get my hands on the follow up story ,,, which I believe is due out soon enough :) ,,, I wouldn't say this book ends on a cliffhanger but you are left at a point of wanting and needing more ,,, knowing there is plenty of untold stories to follow ,,, so it may as well be a cliffhanger lol ,,, I feel like an addict that has took their last fix knowing that the current high is going to end and although there is more out there it's not going be right away :)

So a glimpse of the story for you with as little exposure of the story as possible :) ,,, 

We have Laurie ,,, now this girl would appear on the outside to be confident and know what she wants with a hint of shyness to those looking deep enough ,,, she is out of work and struggling but not giving up hope ,,, then there's the past ,,, the dreaded past secrets she hasn't divulged ,,, they keep her from going back to her roots ,,, money and help are there but she needs her independence ,,, she needs to rely on herself not him and she'll not go back ,,, regardless of the consequences ,,, there is one thing she wants and time is running out ,,, but to get this one thing she will have to suck it up and get help from someone ,,, anyone ,,, an actor ,,, yes he could play the part just as he would if he were in a play ,,, that would work ,,, she is caged up and feelings don't come into the equation she has no time for them ,,, so when her friend finds someone ,,, an actor ,,, she isn't keen but knows there's not much other choice ,,, in walks Chase ,,, 

But with Chase comes a whole lot more than an actor ,,, more than she asks for ,,, more than she ever dreamed ,,, more than she ever thought that she wanted ,,, but caged she is ,,, and damn those walls and bars and padlocks are good ,,, but so is Chase ;)

There is a hint of mystery and angst to this story too ,,, we don't get the conclusion of this within this book which adds to the desire to read the next ,,, and I'm guessing there's a whole lot more to Chase than we are first lead to believe

An all round good read definitely recommend this one people ;)

Ho-ly shitballs!!!!! I have been waiting for this book for what feels FOREVER! When I heard Ker was doing another book in this series I was jumping for joy. And believe me, I don't jump for just anyone.....

This book starts off 18 years after the last one. Taking up with Blake and Melody another beautiful 17 year old daughter Cereus. And Ryan the psychopath we all secretly love? He's still locked up. And let's just say he still and messed up as ever. And 18 years is alotta time to get you think on....

So this book kicks off from his POV. An I swear to all that's holy when you read this prologue you will be hooked. I was super glued to my kindle.

As you can guess Ryan gets outta the joint(mental hospital) and straight away he wants to get to know Cereus. His family. He may not feel but he is drawn to her. Even more then the weird pull to melody all them years ago.

So of course Blake FREAKS OUT when he hears he's getting out. And melody? Well yeeeeeeeah, she maybe not know..... Blake thinks all will be okay because Ryan hasn't a clue about his wife and daughter, BUT Blake never should've been so naive.... Ryan's the all knowing all seen not so friendly neighbourhood psychopath.....

I don't wanna say to much because me going into only knowing a few pointers was the best for me. But know it's writing beautifully...

This is Ker Dukey. And each book she write draws me in to its darkness an light and doesn't give me back until I'm a shell of myself with emotions I really don't know how to handle...... 

 

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active... I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could of improved the story if they took another direction so i thought it best that i tell my own.

My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.
